Pick up from your Hotel. Transfer to the Airport of Santiago “Arturo Merino Benitez”. Flight to Easter Island (5 hours approx.) Welcome to Rapa Nui or “Easter Island”, Chile. Pick up from Easter Island International Airport “Mataveri” and meet your Local Tour Guide at Rapa Nui. You will be greeted with a traditional flower collar and taken to your hotel. After your lunch (optional), you will browse through unique stones and wood carvings at the Artisan Market on town or at Market in Hanga Roa. Accommodation in your Hotel.

Full Day Excursion “Journey of Legends The Moai Circuit“ (6.5 hours) After breakfast, we will visit the main tourist circuit, in where we can comprehend the history of the megalithic culture of Rapat Nui. Here is interpreted everything about the Moai, the emblematic figure of Easter Island. We will also learn about the monarchy social system established in the island between V and XV centuries. Our first stop will be at “AKAHANGA VILLAGE”. Located on the southeast coast of the island, it is considered as an emblematic place, because according to the oral tradition the colonizer king of Rapa Nui Hotu ́to Matu ́a was buried here. Then, we will continue visiting “RANO RARAKU”. This is the only volcanic cone tuff quarry (the Pilli) existing on the island. This material allowed the construction of the Moai on a larger scale. Here, you can find about 400 of them in a different stage of elaboration. It is also one of the most important archaeological sites for the Rapa Nui culture and the main one for the National Park. Then, we will visit AHU TONGARIKI. Located opposite to Rano Raraku, this is the larger platform from all the reconstruction on the island. This altar has fifteen visible standing statues. Box Lunch included. After lunch, we will continue with our excursion. We will visit TE PITO KURA. Here, we find the largest moai transported from Rano Raraku quarry. It is 11 meters long and weighs about 90 tons. Beside this Ahu platform, you can find the stone called Te Pito ‘o te Henua, formerly known as Tita’a hanga ‘o te henua. Then, we will go and visit AHU NAU NAU, located in the area of Anakena. It is undoubtedly one of the most accomplished Ahu of the island because of the refinement of its Moai. Finally, one of the most important places in Easter Island, MORI ONE BEACH ANAKENA. Located in the area of Anakena, this beach is characterized by warm turquoise waters and coral sand. It is the main beach of the island and it used to be the ancestral residence of the Miru Araki royal family. Accommodation in your Hotel. Difficulty Level: Easy.

During this excursion, we climb the extinct volcano, RANO KAU. This is where we have a view of the entire island with its coasts and volcanoes and the town of HANGA ROA. The second viewpoint we visit lets us appreciate the crater of RANO KAU with its lagoon and then, we arrive at the ceremonial village ORONGO, where the ceremony and competition of the Bird Man – TANGATA MANU was held. Then, we visit the AHU VINAPU with its architecture that reminds us of the construction of the pre-Inca villages. At the end of this excursion, we visit the cave ANA KAI TANGATA where it is possible to appreciate cave paintings. This circuit consists of a visit to the ceremonial site TAHAI with 3 platforms, the AHU, with its restored statues. In this site, there is also the only Moai with eyes. We can also see the remains of a boat house, a stone hen house and a wharf completely built with stones. Then, we will continue our visit to AHU AKIVI, a platform with 7 restored Moais. According to legend, these 7 statues represent the first explorers who arrived on Rapa Nui, sent by King Hotu Matua. Later, we will visit the PUNA PAU quarry where the PUKAO or “headdresses” of the Moai were carved. Return to the Hotel. This evening, we will walk to Ahu “Tahai” (Ahu means: “Ceremonial Place” at Rapa Nui language) to observe a beautiful sunset looking the Pacific Ocean.

Breakfast. Leisure time for relaxation or do a nice walk at the Village or the beach. Pick up from your Hotel, transfer out to Easter Island airport “Mataveri”. Arrive to Santiago airport. Board return flight home.
